Surf Academy Team Member

Job description

Bahrain Surf Park is hiring a Surf Academy Team Member, the first point of contact for guests after check-in at the main reception. Under the supervision of the Surf Academy Manager you will prepare guests for their sessions by confirming bookings, issuing rental equipment (wetsuits, surfboards and accessories) and guiding them to the most suitable gear for their session, experience and comfort level.

Surfing is new to many guests in Bahrain, so the role is strongly guest-facing: you will help first-timers feel confident, safe and excited. On-the-job training in product knowledge and procedures is provided.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and explain the process clearly
• Verify session bookings and rental inclusions
• Keep guests ready on time and the guest flow smooth during peak periods
• Fit and distribute rental equipment: wetsuits, surfboards, leashes and accessories
• Help guests choose appropriate equipment and answer basic questions in a friendly, reassuring way
• Receive, sort and store equipment after use and keep wetsuits rinsed, organised by size and ready
• Inspect equipment for damage and report issues to the Surf Academy Manager
• Keep the Surf Academy and rental area clean, safe and welcoming
• Support the Guest Experience Team with guest flow, directions and queue support when needed
• Flag stock gaps, sizing issues and recurring equipment problems

Requirements

• Passion for water sports and an interest in surfing
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, outdoor, guest-facing environment
• Confident communicator with attention to detail
• Basic knowledge of surf equipment and/or board sports gear
• Experience in rentals, retail or hospitality in a sports, beach or leisure environment
• Fluent English (B2 minimum); Arabic a plus
• Committed to early mornings, later nights, weekends and holidays when the site is busiest
