Head Bartender

Job description

Bahrain Surf Park is looking for a Head Bartender to take charge of bar operations, beverage creation, mixology standards and bar staff performance across the park's restaurant, beach bars and event setups. You will create cocktails, mocktails and specialty drinks, manage beverage inventory and cost controls, enforce health and safety rules and lead a team of bartenders and barbacks.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily opening, operating and closing procedures for the main and kiosk bar stations.
• Develop and enforce standard recipes for signature cocktails, mocktails, specialty coffees and fresh juices.
• Make sure drinks are prepared quickly, correctly garnished and served with good presentation.
• Train and coach bartenders on service standards, speed of service and beverage consistency.
• Oversee bar inventory, FIFO compliance, wastage logging and stock rotation.
• Conduct daily stock checks, manage par levels and place orders.
• Run weekly and monthly bar stock takes and minimize spillage and wastage.
• Audit bar POS entries against drink output to keep billing accurate.
• Lead pre-shift bar briefings on daily specials and expected guest volumes.
• Enforce cleanliness of bar counters, ice wells, speed rails, blenders and draft taps, and keep bar equipment maintained.

Requirements

• Diploma in Hospitality / Beverage Management or certified professional mixologist (preferred).
• Food handler / food safety certification.
• Fluent English speaker; Arabic fluency is a strong advantage.
• Minimum 3 years of bartending experience in high-volume bars, beach clubs or resort dining, with at least 1 year as a Head or Senior Bartender.
• Track record in cocktail creation, menu engineering, beverage cost control and bar team leadership.
• Proficiency in POS systems, bar stock software and beverage cost analysis.
• Strong leadership, coaching and communication abilities.
• Flexibility to work evening shifts, weekends and public holidays.
