Job description

Bahrain Surf Park is hiring a BarBack to provide the backend support that keeps its bartenders fully stocked and equipped. You will manage the ice supply, restock glassware and spirits, prep garnishes, clear bar counters, dispose of trash and keep the bar work areas clean and organized. The role reports to the Head Bartender.

This is an entry-level role suited to someone with up to one year of hospitality, bar support or restaurant service experience.

Responsibilities

• Transport spirits, beer kegs, wine cases, mixers, juices and ice bags from storage to bar stations
• Monitor and refill ice wells, speed rails, bottled beverages, straws and napkins during peak hours
• Collect, wash, sanitize and polish glassware and keep bartenders supplied with clean, chilled glasses
• Assist with washing fruit, slicing citrus garnishes, preparing mint and stocking condiment caddies
• Help prepare fresh juices and syrup bottles as instructed by the Head Bartender
• Empty trash cans, bottle recycling bins and cardboard boxes from bar areas
• Mop spills, wipe down back-bar shelves and keep bar storage immaculate

Requirements

• High School Certificate or equivalent
• Food Handler / Food Safety certification
• Basic English communication skills
• 0 to 1 year of experience in hospitality, bar support or restaurant service; barback or runner experience in a beach venue or high-volume bar is a plus
• Physical stamina for heavy lifting (ice bags, beer kegs, liquor crates)
• Basic understanding of glassware care, bar tools and sanitation rules
• Flexibility to work rotational shifts, late nights, weekends and holidays
