Senior Telecom Engineer

Job description

Assystem is recruiting a Senior Telecom Engineer in Al Khobar on a fixed-term contract. The role leads telecommunications, ICT and low-current (ELV) design for buildings and infrastructure projects, coordinating telecom engineers and designers in a multidisciplinary design environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead telecommunications and ICT design activities for assigned projects.
• Coordinate and supervise telecom engineers, ELV engineers and designers.
• Provide technical direction and plan discipline activities, monitoring design progress.
• Review technical outputs prepared by engineers and designers and mentor junior engineers.
• Design telecom outside plant and inside plant, fibre-optic backbones, structured cabling, LAN/WAN interfaces and Wi-Fi infrastructure.
• Design security and surveillance systems such as CCTV, access control and intercom, plus other low-current systems where in scope.
• Lead infrastructure telecom network planning including duct-bank routing, manhole sizing and service-provider connection points.
• Prepare and review design basis reports, network and schematic diagrams, layouts, cable schedules, specifications, bills of quantities and tender documents.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical, Electronics or Communications Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• 8-10 years of relevant telecom/ICT engineering experience.
• Demonstrable experience designing telecom and low-current systems for buildings and infrastructure projects.
• Experience leading or coordinating telecom engineers and designers.
• Good experience working in multidisciplinary design environments.
• Saudi Arabian project experience is strongly preferred.
• Valid or eligible professional registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers.
• Preferred certifications: BICSI RCDD, CCNA/CCNP and vendor-certified networking qualifications.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks and Microsoft Visio.
