GIS I and C Specialist

Job description

Hitachi Energy is looking for a motivated GIS I&C Specialist in Dammam to cover the activities required to get switching systems installed, repaired and returned to service. The role involves installing high-voltage systems and representing the business and its technical knowledge in dealings with the client at the installation site.

You will be responsible for installation and commissioning work being carried out in perfect technical order, keeping to project deadlines while bearing the cost-performance ratio in mind.

Responsibilities

• Carry out installation and maintenance work independently
• Ensure compliance with installation requirements and instructions, and observe accident prevention measures including guidelines for work on live system components
• Mark up drawings and documents with any changes made during installation
• Advise the sub-supplier's installation superintendent on planning and coordinating the workforce needed to meet the schedule
• Work with the project manager to establish the status of completed and outstanding work
• Inspect arriving material for completeness and damage and coordinate material handling
• Issue non-conformance reports for damaged or missing equipment
• Supervise final installation and commissioning tests and the installation completion documentation
• Supervise and coordinate loop check activities and take part in site meetings

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience with GIS preferred
• Previous experience with SF6 gas handling and high-voltage transmission and sub-transmission GIS product knowledge preferred
• Ability to use MS Project professionally
• Proficiency in spoken and written English
