Senior Cost Estimator

Job description

Wood is recruiting a Senior Cost Estimation Engineer to join its Projects team, delivering across FEED and detail design scopes of work. In this role you analyze project scope, engineering documents, quantities and material take-offs, perform cost analysis and benchmarking, and maintain estimating databases and cost forecasting. The position is based in Sohar, Oman.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review CAPEX/OPEX cost estimates (Class 5 to Class 1) for oil and gas projects
• Analyze project scope, engineering documents, quantities and material take-offs
• Develop estimate basis, cost breakdowns, contingencies and risk assessments
• Perform cost analysis and benchmarking, and maintain estimating databases
• Support tender evaluations, vendor quotations, budgeting and cost forecasting
• Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders on funding, estimates and investment decisions
• Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes and mentor junior engineers

Requirements

• Bachelor of Engineering in a related discipline
• Minimum 12 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including 5 years in a similar role
• Experience in refinery projects
• Skilled in MS Office applications
