Engineering Technician

Jumeirah Muscat Bay, a luxury beachfront resort at Bandar Jissah in Muscat and part of the Jumeirah group, is hiring a Technician for its Engineering department. The role manages and maintains the technical systems and infrastructure of the resort marina, including sewage, water and electrical power systems, buildings, roads, pontoons, lighting, pump-out systems, access gates and fire protection systems.

The technician also ensures compliance with environmental and safety regulations, coordinates external maintenance services, supports the Marina Manager with technical maintenance budgets and keeps accurate technical documentation. The ideal candidate has a relevant technical diploma and at least one year of experience in a technical department.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain all technical systems and infrastructure within the marina, including sewage, water, electrical power, buildings, roads, pontoons, pedestals, lighting, pump-out systems, access gates and fire protection systems
• Ensure proper operation and compliance of seawater circulation systems, sanitary facilities, substations, pump stations, sewage treatment systems, water tanks, parking areas, coastal zones and piers
• Coordinate disposal of hazardous waste through authorised providers and follow environmental and safety regulations
• Arrange and oversee external maintenance services that cannot be handled internally, and support the Marina Manager with technical maintenance budgets
• Inspect safety equipment and systems and assist the Facility Management Company and vendors during on-site works, including work permits
• Monitor and analyse water and electricity consumption, take accurate monthly meter readings and keep technical and project documentation
• Record and report damage to structures or systems for insurance purposes

Requirements

• High school education with a relevant technical diploma
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Problem-solving ability with strong attention to detail
• Leadership, team management, creativity and project management skills
• Minimum of one year of experience working within a technical department
