Rooms Technician

Job description

The Ritz-Carlton, Doha is a 5-star resort on the shores of the Arabian Gulf with 374 rooms and suites, award-winning restaurants, a full spa and fitness centre, a private beach and a Club Lounge. The Rooms Technician performs scheduled preventive maintenance in guest rooms, meeting rooms and public spaces, maintaining, repairing and cleaning guest rooms in line with the property's room preventive maintenance procedures and standard guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance in guest rooms, meeting rooms and public spaces, including inspecting mattresses, assembling bed frames and replacing light fixtures
• Spot clean carpets and upholstery, dust, and do touch-up painting and touch-up furniture work
• Ensure all necessary hardware and appliances are present in each room and in working order
• Inspect and repair grout and caulking
• Perform miscellaneous minor repairs such as tightening loose toilet seats, changing light bulbs and patching holes in walls
• Perform general cleaning of guestroom surfaces including tub, wall tile, hard floors, walls, windows and mirrors
• Report any serious maintenance problems, unusual findings or safety hazards immediately to the manager or supervisor

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• Less than 1 year of related work experience
• No supervisory experience needed
