Quality Manager - GIS

Job description

Hitachi Energy is hiring a Quality Manager for its gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) operations in Dammam. Manufacturing quality assurance here means defining the activities, processes and standards that fulfil quality requirements for manufactured material, components and products, building the systems that ensure timely delivery of quality products, and auditing manufacturing processes and outputs against internal and regulatory standards.

The Quality Manager leads a team of quality engineers and technicians in a high-quality manufacturing and assembly environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of quality engineers and technicians in a manufacturing and assembly environment
• Plan and implement team development while delivering on performance and quality objectives
• Arrange and perform shop floor quality activities for product inspection, incoming material, manufacturing processes and testing
• Drive process development and maintain quality procedures, templates and work instructions for operations and incoming quality
• Work with cross-functional departments on non-conformances, root cause analysis, corrective actions and continuous improvement
• Support resolution of quality issues from GIS assembly lines, testing or customer sites and follow up NCR improvement actions
• Take part in ISO, Hitachi Energy and customer audits and coordinate closure of findings
• Support organizational changes and Lean culture within the business unit
• Implement and monitor quality strategies for incoming materials, processes, supplier performance and customer complaints using quality KPIs
• Conduct failure analyses and prepare 8D reports
• Monitor supplier quality performance and corrective actions for NCRs, CCRPs and supplier non-conformances
• Ensure HSE compliance and adherence to procedures, customer requirements and industry standards

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Electrical Engineering preferred
• 15+ years of experience in GIS products, manufacturing quality, quality assurance or quality control
• Proven experience resolving High Voltage site non-conformances and customer quality issues
• Hands-on experience in material inspection, incoming quality control and product or process auditing
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, QMS, internal auditing and certification requirements
• Experience with 8D, root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action management
• Knowledge of FMEA, MSA, control plans and SPC is preferred
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, planning and communication skills
• Lean Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt or higher is an advantage
• Proficiency in spoken and written English
