Desalination Plant Operator

Job description

As Desalination Plant Operator your responsibility is to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the resort's desalination plant. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in water treatment processes, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to perform maintenance and monitoring tasks to ensure uninterrupted water supply.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate the desalination plant systems to ensure optimal performance and water quality.
• Conduct routine inspections of plant equipment, including pumps, valves, and filtration systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot plant equipment to minimize downtime.
• Identify and repair mechanical and electrical faults within the desalination system.
• Test water samples to ensure compliance with quality standards and report anomalies.
• Ensure proper chemical dosing and monitor chemical inventory levels.
• Maintain accurate logs of plant operations, maintenance and water quality results; submit daily reports to the Duty Engineer.
• Follow safety procedures and environmental and water treatment regulations.

Requirements

• Previous experience in desalination plant operations or a related field.
• Strong technical skills in mechanical, electrical, and water treatment systems.
• Familiarity with water treatment processes, reverse osmosis systems, and chemical dosing.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
