BMS/SCADA Specialist

Job description

SGS is hiring a BMS / SCADA Specialist on contract for an onsite data center project in Saudi Arabia (the posting does not name the city).

The specialist leads building management system (BMS) and SCADA activities across the full project lifecycle, from design review and configuration through installation support, testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing (IST) and final handover, integrating BMS and SCADA with the data center's electrical, mechanical, fire and third-party systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead BMS and SCADA activities across the project lifecycle, including design review, configuration, installation support, testing, commissioning, IST and handover
• Review and validate BMS/SCADA architecture, points lists, network topology, control schematics, sequences of operation and graphics
• Configure, program, test and troubleshoot BMS and SCADA controllers, servers, field devices, HMIs, databases and alarm management
• Integrate BMS and SCADA with UPS, generators, switchgear, power meters, HVAC, chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, fire alarm, DCIM and third-party systems using BACnet, Modbus, SNMP and OPC
• Support Integrated Systems Testing to validate control logic, alarms, interlocks, failover, redundancy and operational sequences
• Coordinate with commissioning managers, MEP engineers, vendors, OEMs, IT/network teams, contractors and client representatives
• Witness and support FAT, SAT and site testing
• Develop and maintain BMS/SCADA documentation, including configuration records, test results, alarm matrices, trend logs and backups
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, international standards, cybersecurity practices and KSA regulations
• Enforce HSE requirements during testing and commissioning
• Support O&M manuals, operator training and post-handover optimization

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Control Systems or a related discipline
• 7-10 years of experience in BMS/SCADA systems
• 3-5+ years on data center or mission-critical projects preferred
• Hands-on experience with BMS and SCADA platforms such as Siemens, Schneider Electric, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, ABB or Rockwell
• Proficiency in BACnet IP/MSTP, Modbus TCP/RTU, OPC and SNMP
• Good understanding of data center operations, redundancy concepts (N, N+1, 2N) and alarm management
• Ability to read control drawings, network diagrams and sequences of operation
