Veolia, a global leader in resource management with a workforce of about 179,000, runs the Sulaibiya Wastewater Treatment & Reclamation Plant in Jahra, Kuwait, an ultrafiltration (UF) and reverse osmosis (RO) water reclamation facility operated by Veolia Water Technologies. Veolia is hiring an EHS Officer who reports to the EHS Manager and helps implement, monitor and improve health, safety and environmental programmes across the Sulaibiya site, ensuring compliance with local law, company policy and client requirements while building a strong safety culture among employees and contractors. The role involves outdoor work in operational plant areas and extended hours during shutdowns or emergency works.

দায়িত্ব

• Monitor daily site activities and report unsafe conditions, acts or potential hazards
• Support incident reporting, investigation and follow-up of corrective and preventive actions
• Run toolbox talks, safety inductions and awareness sessions for employees and subcontractors
• Help prepare permits to work, risk assessments and job safety analyses
• Carry out regular site inspections and take part in audits
• Support Veolia's Life Saving Rules, High Risk Management Standards and site safety campaigns
• Maintain HSE records, reports and documentation
• Coordinate PPE issue and inspections and ensure correct use across the site
• Give first-level guidance on safety procedures to supervisors and workers
• Support emergency response, evacuation and chemical spill drills
• Check housekeeping and welfare facilities on routine site checks
• Make sure confined space, LOTO, working at height, electrical safety and chemical handling practices are applied correctly
• Inspect emergency tools and equipment monthly and follow up on findings
• Coach employees on safe behaviour
• Inspect cranes, forklifts, cutting/grinding/welding equipment and PPE before daily work starts

যোগ্যতা

• Diploma in Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental Management or a related field (preferred)
• Recognised safety training or certification such as IOSH Managing Safely (preferred, not mandatory)
• 4-7 years of relevant experience in an industrial, construction or utilities environment, preferably wastewater or water treatment
• Familiarity with Kuwait HSE regulations and international safety standards
• Basic understanding of chemical safety, industrial hygiene, risk assessment, incident investigation and HSE documentation
• Strong observation and reporting skills and the ability to communicate safety requirements to diverse teams
• Proficient in Google Workspace for safety reporting and presentations
• Willing to work outdoors and extended hours for shutdowns or emergencies
