SCADA Engineer

Job description

Avanceon is growing its operations and maintenance team for the Ashghal Road Tunnel Program in Qatar and is looking for a Maintenance Engineer - SCADA. The role maintains and supports distributed SCADA systems built on AVEVA System Platform across multiple tunnel sites, ensuring continuity, stability and compliance for one of Qatar's key infrastructure networks.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance for SCADA nodes and control rooms
• Troubleshoot software, communication, alarm and system performance issues
• Handle system patching, backups, redundancy checks and failover testing
• Monitor historian data, alarms, system integrations and overall SCADA health
• Maintain logs, RCA reports, maintenance documentation and change records
• Work with OEMs, consultants and internal teams on improvements and escalations
• Support cybersecurity, asset lifecycle and system upgrade activities

Requirements

• 5-6 years of hands-on SCADA maintenance experience (infrastructure/utilities experience is a plus)
• Strong knowledge of AVEVA System Platform, InTouch/OMI, Historian and Galaxy Repository
• Familiarity with PLCs from Schneider, Siemens or Rockwell
• Good understanding of OPC UA/DA, industrial networking, redundancy and remote architectures
• Solid troubleshooting, reporting and communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation or Mechatronics Engineering
• AVEVA System Platform certification is highly preferred
• Networking or cybersecurity certifications are an added advantage
• A Qatar driving license is a plus
