Safety Supervisor

Job description

Avanceon is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Safety Supervisor to oversee and promote health, safety and environmental (HSE) compliance across its operations in Doha, Qatar. The successful candidate implements safety policies, conducts inspections and risk assessments, ensures compliance with client and regulatory requirements, and builds a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety training and awareness programs on emergency response, hazardous material handling, accident prevention and safe work practices
• Perform regular site safety inspections and audits to identify hazards, unsafe conditions and non-compliance
• Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, local regulations and client requirements
• Monitor correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and enforce safety procedures
• Identify workplace hazards and conduct risk assessments for work activities, equipment and the work environment
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective and preventive actions
• Keep abreast of HSE regulations, industry standards and best practices and recommend improvements
• Maintain safety records, inspection reports, incident reports and other HSE documentation
• Promote a proactive safety culture and employee participation in HSE initiatives

Requirements

• NEBOSH or IOSH certification is mandatory
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Safety Supervisor, preferably in Qatar
• Good knowledge of Ashghal requirements and QCS 2014
• Ashghal-approved Safety Supervisors will be given preference
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Strong interpersonal, communication and reporting skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
