Auditor - Treasury & Financial Markets and Risk Management

Bank ABC is hiring an Auditor for Treasury & Financial Markets and Risk Management in its Group Audit team in Manama, Bahrain. The role supports Group Audit in providing an opinion to Senior Management and the Audit Committee on the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, by delivering audit assignments as per the annual plan, providing ongoing risk assessment input, managing relationships within the organization and applying the audit tools and methodology.

Responsibilities

• Support the annual risk assessment process for Treasury & Financial Markets and Risk Management
• Plan the scope of individual audit assignments and capture work in the audit platform before issuing reports
• Produce and discuss issue sheets on findings and agree action plans and implementation dates
• Perform audits within the area of expertise (Treasury & Financial Markets and Risk Management) and ad hoc reviews requested by the Group Chief Auditor, Senior Management or Audit Committee
• Hold regular relationship meetings with Bahrain-based business unit management and keep up with business activity and new products
• Deliver audit assignments on time and within budget, supporting audit reports within 125 calendar days after the start of fieldwork
• Review issue closure requests and validate that agreed actions are complete within 30 calendar days
• Complete at least one external development activity and the bank's mandatory training, and monitor regulatory developments

Requirements

• University Bachelor's degree and professional qualification in accounting, banking, finance, audit or risk management
• Minimum 4 years of internal or external audit experience
• Proven experience identifying risks and controls related to Finance
• Familiarity with audit methodologies and workflow-based audit software such as B-Wise
• Subject matter knowledge of Corporate Treasury and Financial Markets, Market Risk, Operational Risk, Regulatory Risk and Balance Sheet Management
• Strong understanding of corporate governance and accounting
• Excellent spoken and written English and Arabic language skills
• Ability to develop and deliver presentations to senior individuals
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills and sound judgment
