The International Rescue Committee (IRC) has supported Rohingya refugees and Bangladeshi communities in Cox's Bazar, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong since 2017. The Senior Protection Coordinator will lead protection programming in Cox's Bazar, providing strategic and technical leadership, ensuring timely implementation of project activities, representing IRC Bangladesh in the Protection Cluster and related forums, and supporting business development, donor engagement and proposal development.

The role works closely with programme, advocacy, communication, MEAL and operations teams, and has overall responsibility for supervising the protection teams for Women Protection and Empowerment (WPE), Child Protection (CP) and Protection and Rule of Law (PRoL). The position is based in Cox's Bazar with regular travel to field locations, and the post-holder must adhere to the IRC Way code of conduct and its safeguarding policies.

• Provide strategic direction and technical oversight to protection programming in Cox's Bazar
• Ensure effective planning, implementation and monitoring of protection activities in line with project ToC, quality standards and donor requirements
• Lead work plans, spending plans, procurement plans and activity tracking
• Mainstream protection principles, accountability, safeguarding, gender, inclusion and conflict sensitivity
• Identify funding opportunities and contribute to concept notes, proposals, budgets and donor reporting
• Coordinate with Health, Education, Economic Recovery and other programmes for integrated programming
• Work with Advocacy and Communications on key messages, case studies and briefing notes
• Represent IRC in the Protection Cluster, working groups and inter-agency coordination forums
• Maintain relationships with government authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, donors and community leaders
• Guide and mentor the WPE, CP and PRoL Coordinators and build protection team capacity
• Support recruitment, performance management and professional development of team members

যোগ্যতা

• Bachelor's degree in international development, law, human rights or a related field; Master's preferred
• Minimum 10 years managing protection programmes in humanitarian response, including emergency or post-conflict settings
• At least 3-5 years in a senior coordination, managerial or technical leadership role
• Experience in the Cox's Bazar/Rohingya response or similar complex humanitarian settings highly preferred
• Proven experience in Protection Cluster representation and inter-agency coordination
• Strong business development experience, including proposal writing and donor engagement
• Experience working with advocacy, communications, MEAL and operations teams
• Excellent written and spoken English
• High integrity and commitment to safeguarding and protection principles
