FHI 360 is recruiting a Rapid Response and Outbreak Specialist, reporting to the Technical Director of STRIDES Bangladesh. STRIDES (Strengthening Infectious Disease Detection Systems) is part of the U.S. government's Global Health Security programme and advances cross-sectoral efforts to identify, manage and respond to infectious disease threats.

The Specialist provides technical support and guidance and oversees STRIDES emergency response activities in Bangladesh and across the region, implements technical strengthening initiatives, develops a training strategy, facilitates capacity building, and supports donor reporting, publications and presentations. The role collaborates with USG, government counterparts and partner organisations in a coordinated emergency response structure, with travel within the country and internationally up to 25%. Only Bangladeshi nationals are eligible to apply.

দায়িত্ব

• Lead technical implementation of emergency/outbreak response activities in Bangladesh per the country workplan (STRIDES Objective 4)
• Develop methods, techniques and evaluation criteria to respond to emerging infectious disease threats
• Ensure timely communication with FHI 360 country, regional and headquarters teams for emergency management
• Provide expert input to national guidelines and policies on outbreak response
• Help develop training materials, guidance documents, frameworks and SOPs for outbreak response
• Produce and disseminate assessments, outbreak event reports, post-deployment debriefs and M&E reports
• Participate in Early Action Reviews and After-Action Reviews
• Support work planning and review project and donor reports
• Coordinate with ministries of health, district health staff and other stakeholders
• Help manage relationships with local subcontractors in outbreak preparedness and response

যোগ্যতা

• Master's degree in epidemiology, public health, emergency medicine or a related field
• At least 4 years applying field epidemiology and outbreak investigation methods; FETP experience preferred
• Experience leading infectious disease surveillance, outbreak response or global health security projects in Bangladesh
• Ability to analyse information, identify problems and recommend context-appropriate solutions
• Strong analytical skills; DHIS 2 experience preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Prior experience with an NGO, government agency or private organisation
• English and Bangla proficiency
• Willingness to travel at short notice within the country and internationally up to 25%
• Bangladeshi nationals only
