The Delegation of the European Union to Bangladesh is recruiting a Project Officer (Local Agent, Group I, Sysper job no. 245458) for its Cooperation Section, in the team covering Human Capital, Migration and Civil Society. The post is a fixed-term contract of two years, renewable subject to budget and operational needs, for 37.5 hours a week with occasional work outside normal hours, with an expected start date of 1 February 2027. The successful candidate manages the project cycle of EU-funded actions, acts as gender focal point, engages with government, civil society and development partners, and supports programming and policy dialogue. দায়িত্ব

• Manage project cycle phases including formulation, financing documents, calls for proposals and tenders, monitoring, payments, audits and closure
• Support new cooperation actions, sector analysis, stakeholder mapping and a pipeline of future interventions
• Support EU-funded civil society and human rights initiatives and engage with implementing partners and local organisations
• Act as gender focal point, mainstreaming gender across the portfolio including GAP III, and liaise with the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs
• Identify and help resolve procedural or implementation obstacles
• Enter and maintain programme data in OPSYS and other Commission systems
• Build relationships with government, civil society, academia and development partners and support Team Europe coordination
• Contribute to strategies, policy dialogue, monitoring of political and socio-economic developments and briefings
• Verify budgets, prepare contracts, monitor expenditure and support audits

যোগ্যতা

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent (ISCED level 6)
• Five years of relevant professional experience after the degree
• Excellent Bangla and English, with English at CEFR C1 minimum
• Right to live and work in the country when applying
• Assets: master's degree in a relevant field; experience in civil society, democracy, human rights, gender, public administration or institutional reform
• Assets: experience with EU external-action instruments, local NGOs and grant-funded work, policy analysis and donor dialogue
• Assets: knowledge of Bangladesh's institutional and civil-society landscape; Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools
