Wood has an opening for a Principal Civil & Structural Engineer to join its team in Qatar on a long-term basis. This is a key role in the Wood Doha office, delivering concept studies, FEED, EPC and PMC work for onshore and offshore oil and gas clients.

The engineer executes project work in line with the project execution plan and Wood or project procedures on safety and quality, within man-hour, cost and schedule targets, and may act as lead engineer and line manager for civil engineers in the Qatar office.

দায়িত্ব

• Produce, review and take responsibility for detailed calculations, civil engineering datasheets and drawings
• Design and analyse new and existing buildings, structures, foundations, infrastructure and civil works, including drainage, roads and pavements in oil and gas facilities
• Design concrete and steel structures such as pipe racks, buildings, equipment support structures, pipe bridges, pipe supports and sleepers
• Design and check foundations, including dynamic, equipment, compressor and pump foundations and underground pits
• Carry out adequacy checks on existing structures and foundations
• Work in the Intergraph Smart Plant 3D modelling environment
• Supervise less experienced civil engineers and act as line manager where required
• Act as Lead Engineer when required, including estimating, planning and progress reporting
• Support recruitment, training and development of civil staff
• Use engineering software such as STAAD-Pro, Foundation 3D and Mat 3D as user and checker
• Make sure Wood and client HSE and quality procedures are followed
• Manage commercial and technical risks in own work and raise significant issues to the Lead Civil Engineer or Engineering Manager

যোগ্যতা

• Degree in Civil Engineering or similar
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience
• Enrolled on the Register of Engineers in the State of Qatar, Grade A (mandatory); if not enrolled, must be a Chartered Engineer
• Proven core civil engineering design skills, preferably in oil and gas
• Experience across onshore projects and phases, greenfield and brownfield, from Pre-FEED to EPC
• Self-motivated with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Customer focus and analytical and innovation skills
