Supply Teacher - Senior School

Job description

British School Muscat is always looking to appoint outstanding Supply Teachers to work with its highly engaged students, staff and parents in the Senior School on a temporary, ad-hoc basis, teaching students aged 11 to 18. You will need to show a genuine commitment to creating an inspiring and stimulating, child-centred learning environment. The supply teacher reports to the Head of Senior School. Start date: as required.

All applicants must be qualified teachers with a UK or internationally recognised equivalent qualification. Responsibilities

• Teach whole classes, groups and individuals so teaching objectives are met and teaching time is used well
• Set high expectations for behaviour and maintain good discipline through well-focused teaching
• Assess how well learning objectives have been achieved and monitor students' classwork
• Ensure students make progress in work set by the class teacher and intervene on under-achievement
• Implement the Senior School behaviour, anti-bullying and child protection policies
• Act as a tutor when asked and make good use of textbooks, ICT and other learning resources

Requirements

• Qualified teacher with a UK or internationally recognised equivalent teaching qualification
• Thorough and up-to-date knowledge of your subject or specialism
• Commitment to safeguarding; appointment subject to satisfactory references and police safeguarding clearance
