Project Engineer

Job description

Johnson Controls is hiring a Project Engineer in Dubai, reporting directly to the Project Manager for the Middle East region. You will join a growing team driving the business for Security Systems and support the project management team with the design and execution of projects, as well as pre-sales and estimation.

You will need solid knowledge of designing and delivering physical security solutions covering access control, CCTV, intercom, networks and associated peripherals.

Responsibilities

• Carry out site surveys for the assigned territory and engage subcontractors for installation works
• Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects
• Monitor compliance with applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
• Interact daily with clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field
• Support the pre-sales and estimation process

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering or a similar discipline from a reputable university
• Minimum 6-8 years of project engineering experience executing low-voltage physical security systems in the UAE
• Comprehensive knowledge of large physical security systems including access control, CCTV, intercom, gate barrier and intrusion systems
• Good interpersonal, negotiation, team management and influencing skills
• Strong analytical, planning, project costing and execution skills
• Ability to set cost estimate targets during design and recommend cost-effective solutions
• Ability to produce high-quality professional documents for clients and internal use
• Clear understanding of contractual documents and obligations and preparation of official communications with clients and vendors
• Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
