M&A Manager

Job description

The M&A Manager assists the M&A Director within the strategic assets team at Emirates Investment Authority, leading M&A deal executions across sectors in line with the EIA strategy. You will shape investment theses, build financial models, run transactions with internal risk, legal and finance teams, and oversee external advisors.

Responsibilities

• Work with sector teams to formulate investment theses and run a preliminary strategic, financial and legal assessment to reach a go / no-go decision
• Build financial models and conduct valuation analysis, including sensitivity and scenario analysis, for M&A targets
• Develop a framework for synergy assessment with the sector teams
• Prepare internal presentations and Investment Committee memos to seek investment approval
• Lead all aspects of M&A transaction execution, liaising with internal risk, legal and finance, and negotiate with the target and its shareholders
• Report to the Chief Strategic Assets Officer and Investment Committee members on transaction progress
• Lead and manage commercial, banking and financial due diligence advisors
• Build and maintain a network of financial advisors, dealmakers, PE players and SWFs and flag upcoming deals of interest to the sector teams

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (finance, business or economics preferred); Master's degree preferred, MBA from a top school highly recommended
• About 10 years of dealmaking experience from investment banking M&A or private equity
• Strong financial modelling and valuation skills
• Strong presentation skills for internal presentations and investment proposals
• Track record of deal execution in the region is preferred, though strong international experience is sufficient
• Ability to influence management teams, boards and government or private sector stakeholders
• Experience managing M&A transactions in the Middle East or internationally
