The AIMScribe project is seeking responsible and detail-oriented final-year students for a two-month field research internship in participating GP clinics. Data Collectors will support ethical, consistent, and high-quality capture of doctor-patient consultation data by preparing the recording setup, facilitating informed consent, monitoring recording status, maintaining accurate field records, protecting participant confidentiality, and reporting operational issues to the AIMScribe research team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Report before the assigned shift and complete the pre-shift readiness check for all participating consultation rooms.
- Verify microphone placement, cable/USB connection, laptop audio input selection, recording application status, power, storage, and other approved AIMScribe data-collection dependencies; perform a short test recording when required.
- Monitor recording status during the shift, identify obvious technical failures or interruptions, and escalate issues that cannot be resolved through approved basic troubleshooting.
- After each consultation, verify that the recording was created successfully and that the consultation/consent record, status, and required metadata are complete and correctly matched.
- Maintain accurate daily logs covering consultations approached, consent status, successful/failed recordings, technical incidents, upload/synchronisation status, and relevant remarks.
- Safeguard project microphones, laptops, accessories, consent forms, credentials, and other assigned materials; never copy project data to personal devices or unauthorized storage.
- Complete formal handover between shifts and end-of-shift reconciliation, including pending uploads, unresolved equipment issues, incomplete records, and incident reporting.
- Maintain strict confidentiality, professional conduct, and compliance with AIMScribe research ethics, patient privacy, clinic rules, and project SOPs at all times.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current fourth-year/final-semester undergraduate student who has completed or is near completion of thesis/project work and can commit to the full two-month internship.
- Preference will be given to students from CSE, IT/ICT, EEE, Data Science, Public Health, Health Sciences, Statistics, or related disciplines with strong computer literacy.
- Basic ability to operate Windows laptops, connect and select microphones/audio devices, use web-based forms, and follow step-by-step technical instructions.
- Strong spoken Bangla and professional communication skills; sufficient English reading ability to follow project instructions and forms.
- High level of punctuality, integrity, attention to detail, confidentiality, and willingness to follow standardized research procedures without unauthorized changes.
- Comfortable working in a busy clinical environment and communicating respectfully with patients, physicians, clinic staff, and project supervisors.
- Prior experience in field surveys, research projects, healthcare settings, data collection, volunteering, or technical support will be considered an advantage.
- Candidates living in or near the preferred deployment areas will receive priority to support reliable shift attendance and rapid replacement coverage.
Selection and Internship Requirements:
- Shortlisted candidates must complete AIMScribe orientation, research ethics and consent training, equipment/recording setup training, and a practical competency assessment before field deployment.
- Continuation in the internship will depend on attendance, protocol compliance, data quality, confidentiality, and satisfactory performance during supervised field work.
