Chiller Technician

Job description

Carrier is hiring a Chiller Technician in Dubai to keep critical HVAC systems operating efficiently and reliably. Your technical knowledge and hands-on experience will cover preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment repairs and technical inspections on chillers and airside equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting and repairs on HVAC equipment including chillers and airside systems
• Inspect air-conditioning units, diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and recommend corrective actions
• Maintain, repair and replace damaged or defective components
• Carry out maintenance on reciprocating, screw and scroll chillers and on DX and airside equipment
• Adjust and maintain electrical and electronic controls, clean coils and blowers, inspect motors and check belt tensions
• Prepare technical inspection reports, site condition assessments and scopes of work
• Complete job cards, job completion certificates, EH&S site surveys and daily timesheets
• Estimate labor hours and materials for assigned service work
• Safely handle lifting operations, including setting up gantries and supporting the overhaul of pumps and chillers
• Follow EH&S requirements and attend regular safety and technical training

Requirements

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC&R)
• 2-4 years of HVAC industry experience, preferably in field service and equipment maintenance
• Understanding of HVAC maintenance and repair principles in line with manufacturer guidelines
• Basic technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical and building automation control systems
• Familiarity with health, safety and environmental procedures, including hazard identification and MSDS
• Ability to prepare technical inspection reports and service documentation
• Good command of English
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with mobile service applications
• A valid driving license is an advantage
