Shomotay Tarunno: Youth for Equality is a project implemented by JAAGO Foundation Trust and Plan International Bangladesh with support from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (EKN). The project aims to empower young people, content creators and Youth-Led Organisations (YLOs) to challenge harmful gender stereotypes, promote gender equality, and strengthen youth-led initiatives for positive social change.

The Project Officer will be responsible and actively involved in the planning, implementation, and oversight of the project, ensuring high-quality delivery of activities, efficient resource utilisation, and compliance with donor requirements. The role will drive evidence generation for government-level advocacy, the impact of youth mobilisation, and content creators' positive change, strengthen partner and stakeholder engagement, and support advocacy and policy influence at national and local levels.

Employment type: contractual (5 November 2026 to 30 September 2027). Working days: Sunday to Thursday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Benefits as per the organisation's policy.

• Develop and revise project implementation plans, annual plans and budgets with implementing partners, in line with donor requirements
• Coordinate with partners to support implementation, including detailed work plan development, monitoring and mobilisation of technical support
• Ensure interventions are delivered at high quality and competitive cost, adhering to project objectives and timelines
• Undertake regular field visits, including to remote or hard-to-reach areas
• Collaborate with MEAL and Communication teams to follow up target vs. achievements, ensure outcome harvesting and develop communication materials following organisation and donor guidelines
• Monitor project performance and ensure visibility of achievements at community, partner and central levels
• Generate evidence and presentations on gender stereotypes, sexual harassment and GBV through proper documentation to support advocacy
• Prepare high-quality reports and improve established protocols
• Coordinate with field staff to ensure efficient implementation and compliance with standards at field level
• Support the project team as a high-performance unit, working with people management, quality improvement, finance, compliance and internal communications divisions
• Engage with district administration authorities and liaise with government ministries (MoWCA, MSW, MLJPA) to support policy influence and advocacy
• Coordinate with partners, donors and relevant stakeholders to strengthen project outcomes
• Coordinate with field staff regarding the government LAC application and certificate, along with the quarterly report
• Work with the Finance and Grants Manager to ensure expenditures comply with approved budgets, and take appropriate measures for non-budgeted expenditures while maintaining accountability and transparency
• Uphold JAAGO's safeguarding policies and immediately report any safeguarding concerns, suspicions or incidents through the organisation's reporting procedures

• Master's degree in Statistics, Development Studies, Mass Communications, Economics, Social Sciences, Public Administration, or a related discipline
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in monitoring, evaluation, data management, or project implementation
• Proven experience on projects related to education, governance, civic engagement, youth development, or awareness-raising initiatives
• Demonstrated experience in field monitoring, evaluation studies, data verification and impact assessments using qualitative and quantitative methods
• Experience collaborating with government agencies, development partners and community-based organisations
• Knowledge of current national and global development trends on gender stereotypes, gender-based violence and women empowerment
• Knowledge of community organising and social mobilisation, rights-based approach, gender, good governance, access to information and the SDGs
• Demonstrable experience in partnership management with international corporates or donors
• Project cycle management and operational management of projects/programmes
• Proficiency in presentations and advanced use of AI tools
• Skilled in developing and applying data collection tools, methodologies and digital monitoring systems
• Excellent analytical and report-writing abilities, able to turn data into actionable insights for programme improvement
• Familiarity with donor reporting formats, compliance standards and logframe-based monitoring systems
• Excellent communication skills to engage communities, youth groups and local government bodies
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, initiative, adaptability and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Adherence to safeguarding, confidentiality and organisational ethics
