Nursery Manager (BRAC Nursery)

Operate the nursery profitably by driving monthly sales and production targets, inventory management, worker productivity management and reporting, market analysis and staff development. Education and experience will be relaxed for potential candidates; experience in horticulture nursery management, production and sales will be given preference.

দায়িত্ব

• Ensure effective budget planning and conduct regular physical inventory checks to maintain accurate stock balances and minimize damage, wastage and losses within the nursery
• Achieve monthly sales targets in line with the approved annual sales plan and budgeted sales projections of the nursery
• Manage the technical operations of the nursery and organize variety-wise production of quality saplings according to the production plan approved by Head Office, ensuring optimum utilization of available land
• Regularly inspect plants for diseases, insect infestations, wildlife damage and weed growth, and take appropriate measures to maintain plant health and quality
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders to generate sales opportunities and organize fairs, exhibitions and other promotional activities to achieve sales targets
• Supervise nursery staff and laborers, monitor their productivity, and address their welfare, discipline and administrative requirements
• Implement effective measures to control nursery production costs and ensure optimum utilization of overhead expenses and other resources
• Prepare and submit timely operational, sales, production, inventory and other reports as required by management
• Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation, and act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding
• Practice, promote and endorse the safeguarding policy among team members and follow the safeguarding reporting procedure if a reportable incident takes place
• Perform any other jobs as assigned by the management

যোগ্যতা

• Graduate (B.Sc. in Agriculture / Forestry / Horticulture will be given preference) with minimum CGPA 2.50 or 2nd class/division or equivalent result in all academic examinations
• Minimum 1 year of experience
• Education and experience will be relaxed for potential candidates
• Experience in horticulture nursery management, production and sales will be given preference
• Proficient in written and verbal communication
• Good organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and analytical ability
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel, and internet browsing
• Skilled in good inventory management practices, reporting and budgeting
• Knowledge of the nursery product production process and sales, basic horticulture, care of plant material, agronomy practices, and disease and pest control management
• Knowledge of wholesaling and retailing of plants and associated products
• People management, networking, labor management and hands-on production skills
