National Project Coordinator, Social Insurance and STREAM Projects

The ILO Country Office for Bangladesh (CO-Dhaka) is implementing two reinforcing projects: Advancing Universal Social Insurance for Workers in Bangladesh (funded by UNDP and DFAT Australia), and STREAM, extending social protection to migrant workers and their families in the South Asia-Gulf corridor (supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation). The National Project Coordinator ensures coherent delivery of both projects in Bangladesh, under the Director of the ILO Country Office and the direct supervision of the project's CTA / Project Manager, working with government ministries, employers' and workers' organizations and development partners. Vacancy no. DC/Dhaka/No/2026/05, grade NOB, one-year fixed-term contract with possible extension, published 5 November 2026. This is a national position open to Bangladeshi candidates only. The ILO does not charge any fee at any stage of recruitment.

দায়িত্ব

• Manage operational delivery of the projects, including multi-year workplans, budget, procurement, contracting of service providers and quality assurance of technical outputs
• Coordinate overall planning, day-to-day implementation and risk management with UN agencies, social partners and other stakeholders
• Coordinate context analysis, evidence generation and policy research on social insurance, governance, financing and access, with attention to women, persons with disabilities and migrant workers
• Provide technical and coordination support for the institutional, legal and regulatory frameworks of national social insurance, including unemployment insurance
• Facilitate policy engagement on extending social protection to migrant workers and their families
• Act as the ILO technical focal point within the joint UN programme and coordinate with UN agencies and development partners
• Facilitate consultations and tripartite social dialogue among government ministries, employers' organizations, workers' organizations and civil society
• Contribute to resource mobilization, proposal materials and investment cases
• Lead development of analytical products, policy briefs and lessons-learned documents
• Lead results-based monitoring and reporting in line with donor requirements, including monitoring missions and site visits

যোগ্যতা

• First-level university degree in economics, public policy, social policy, development studies, social sciences, labour studies, public administration, law or a relevant field; an advanced degree is an advantage
• At least three years of progressively responsible national-level experience in project or programme management, including work planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting and stakeholder coordination
• Experience in social protection or labour market policy is an added advantage; UN joint programme or government and social partner experience is highly desirable
• Excellent command of Bangla and English, written and spoken
• Strong project management skills and knowledge of results-based management and monitoring frameworks
• Ability to analyze policy and institutional issues and write concise technical reports and policy briefs
• Ability to build partnerships and facilitate tripartite dialogue and multi-stakeholder consultations
