Head of Product Development - Factory

The Head of Product Development oversees the entire product development process in the factory sample room, from initial concept samples drawn from inspirations through to pre-production samples after order confirmation. The role works closely with the overseas design team, in-house fit technicians and the production execution team, guiding them on upcoming trends and fitting nuances and getting into the detail of sampling so that trend collections meet customer expectations and are delivered on time.

• Lead the conceptualization and development of seasonal collections in line with customer brand aesthetics and market trends
• Support pre-development fabric sourcing and innovation initiatives
• Collaborate with overseas designers to finalize tech packs and design specifications
• Own the garment fitting process and supervise sample creation, conducting fit evaluations using mannequins
• Partner with merchandising, production and fabric supply chain teams for seamless sample turnaround and production readiness
• Communicate development timelines, risks and milestones to internal and external stakeholders
• Monitor global fashion trends, consumer behaviour and competitor activity and share insights with design and merchandising teams
• Conduct risk assessments on development samples, including fabric testing, garment safety (especially kidswear) and production feasibility
• Lead and mentor a team of product developers, tech pack creators and technical designers
• Drive KPIs such as sample-to-order conversion and first-time-right sampling while optimizing sampling cost
• Champion sustainable practices and eco-friendly alternatives in product development and sampling

যোগ্যতা

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Fashion Design, Apparel/Product Development, Textile/Garment Technology or a related discipline
• Relevant experience in end-to-end garment product development, balancing design intent with technical and manufacturing feasibility
• Strong factory and sample-room experience turning design requirements into accurate, production-ready samples
• Good understanding of European fashion trends, particularly French fashion, styling and consumer preferences
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit, fabrics, trims, sampling and production processes
• Excellent English communication skills; proficiency in French and/or Spanish preferred
