About IED

IED is a Dhaka-based architectural and engineering consultancy established in 2007, working on buildings, power and energy projects, ports and public infrastructure for clients including NBR, DPDC, PGCL, BCIC, BIWTA and Bangladesh Bank.

About the Role

The Electrical Engineer will support electrical design and project supervision, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to building and power-sector projects.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare building electrical designs, including load calculations, single-line diagrams, lighting and power layouts, panel schedules, cable sizing, earthing and lightning protection.

• Design or coordinate backup power, fire alarm, CCTV, data and telephone systems.

• Prepare electrical drawings, specifications, BOQs and cost estimates.

• Review contractors’ drawings and material submittals against approved designs and BNBC requirements.

• Support power and energy projects, including substations, distribution lines and solar, through document reviews and inspections.

• Coordinate with architecture, civil and mechanical teams, and support electrical inputs for proposals and tenders.

• Visit project sites as required to check installations, take measurements and attend coordination meetings; maintain project records.

What We’re Looking For

• BSc in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE) or Electrical Engineering.

• 1–5 years of relevant experience in electrical design, consultancy, construction or supervision; building electrical experience is preferred.

• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office, and the ability to read drawings and BOQs.

• Basic understanding of BNBC and applicable electrical standards.

• Good communication skills in Bangla and English; able to work independently, manage deadlines and travel to project sites when required.

Nice to Have (we’ll train you on these)

• DIALux, Revit MEP or similar software, and exposure to substation, distribution or solar projects.

Working Days: Sunday–Thursday (Friday & Saturday weekend)
