Advancing Youth Employability through One-Month Apprenticeship-Based Retail Training is a 12-month BRAC Skills Development Programme (SDP) pilot designed to train 2,000 disadvantaged urban youth aged 18-30 for employment in Bangladesh's growing retail sector. The initiative replaces lengthy classroom-based training with a one-month workplace-intensive model comprising a two-day boot camp followed by one month of supervised apprenticeship in partner retail outlets. The project will prioritize women and persons with disabilities, target at least 30% female participation, establish 30+ employer partnerships, and aim to place at least 75% of graduates within three months. BRAC is seeking a dynamic and results-driven professional as District Manager, Retail Sales Project, who will lead project implementation, drive financial performance, and ensure operational excellence in the assigned area, coordinating with local government and relevant stakeholders at the district level and providing guidance to field staff to improve service quality. This position is open to Bangladeshi nationals only. BRAC does not charge any fees at any stage of the recruitment process.

• Develop the capacity of field-level staff and provide necessary logistical and administrative support to ensure effective project implementation.
• Coordinate monthly batch-wise training, learner and employer selection, boot camps, and parent sensitization workshops to achieve project targets.
• Monitor learner attendance at workplace apprenticeship classes, ensure 95% attendance, and facilitate meaningful job placement opportunities for learners.
• Maintain effective coordination with all stakeholders, including retail brand managers, store owners, local administration, line management, and field-level staff, to ensure smooth project implementation.
• Supervise staff performance, allocate human resources based on programme needs, conduct regular field and store visits, and ensure achievement of quarterly and annual targets, operational standards, and compliance requirements.
• Collect, compile, and submit monthly MIS data, programme reports, and other required documents accurately and within stipulated timelines, including submission to relevant online reporting portals.
• Ensure compliance with organisational policies, procedures, health and safety regulations, and customer service standards; address complaints and operational issues promptly; and facilitate internal and external monitoring, audits, and visits by relevant stakeholders.
• Safeguarding: ensure the safety of programme participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA).
• Safeguarding: follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.

• Bachelor's degree from any recognised university.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant professional experience in the development sector or retail sector.
• Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with retail brands, corporate employers, government agencies, and industry stakeholders to enhance employment opportunities.
• Lead and manage multi-district teams, ensuring effective performance management, stakeholder engagement, and achievement of programme objectives.
• Use MS Office, data reporting tools, and AI-driven applications for presentation development, data management, and reporting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong networking and stakeholder management skills across government, industry, and development sector actors.
• Strong strategic partnership development, negotiation, and relationship management skills, particularly with retail brands and corporate employers.
• In-depth knowledge of the retail industry, employer hiring practices, and job market trends.
• Ability to travel extensively across the zone and work in field and office settings as per programme needs.
• Open to Bangladeshi nationals only.
