Field Nation is headquartered in Minneapolis, MN; this role reports to the Director of Engineering.

Tech environment: a SaaS solution hosted on AWS; backend built on PHP and MySQL and increasingly Node.js and Golang microservices exposed via REST API; frontend built with React and Redux; services built and deployed using Docker containers managed by Kubernetes.

Work schedule and location: hybrid, Monday to Friday (3 days work from home + 2 mandatory work-from-office days); working hours 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM; Uttara 12, Dhaka. Salary: BDT 220,000-285,000 monthly. Team: Software Development.

Responsibilities

• Create and design new features and deliver on product roadmap releases for a SaaS platform hosted on AWS
• Work across a backend built on PHP, MySQL, and increasingly Node.js and Golang microservices exposed via REST API
• Work on a frontend built with React and Redux
• Build and deploy services using Docker containers managed by Kubernetes
• Work closely with the engineering team, Product Management, UX, and customers to deliver impactful features
• Prepare technical designs and delivery plans independently
• Bring fresh ideas on how technology can be used to solve big problems

Requirements

• 7+ years of software development experience
• Strong focus on testing best practices
• Strong JavaScript, React, and Redux knowledge
• Ability to write clean HTML/CSS; experience with preprocessors (LESS/SASS) a plus
• Backend web experience: PHP, JavaScript, Node.js, Golang, etc.
• Advanced SQL knowledge with MySQL and PostgreSQL experience
• Experience with APIs and services (REST API) and microservice architecture
• Experience with legacy codebases: refactoring, improving, or sunsetting old systems
• Event-driven architecture experience
• Familiarity with Git and knowledge of Linux/Unix systems (Ubuntu/Debian a plus)
• Broad technical knowledge, able to integrate multiple technologies to solve big problems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to mentor junior engineers
• Ability to break down large initiatives into manageable pieces
• Experience working with offshore teams is a plus
