Job description

Since MazeGeek's inception in 2016, the company has relentlessly pursued excellence in creating the best technical solutions for its clients, providing standardized software development services on Web, Mobile, Desktop app development, QA, DevOps, Cybersecurity, etc. MazeGeek is looking for an experienced Amazon Web Services architect to be part of its Cloud practice, working on the industry-leading AWS platform to design, develop, and implement next-generation data modernization solutions leveraging Cloud native and commercial/open-source Big Data technologies.

Responsibilities

• Shape the future of MazeGeek's AWS practice by leading innovation efforts and developing intellectual property.
• Lead the attainment of AWS competencies, specializations, certifications, and accreditation by MazeGeek.
• Lead efforts on listing MazeGeek solutions on the AWS marketplace and develop MVPs for MazeGeek & AWS joint innovation solutions.
• Advise clients on AWS-optimized architectures for enterprise data management; craft strategy and roadmaps for on-prem to cloud migration.
• Be hands-on in developing prototypes, conducting proofs of concept, architectural reviews, and cloud economic models.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients on all things AWS, and assist the pre-sales team in client pitches and executive interactions.
• Mentor client/MazeGeek resources on AWS and its services.
• Evaluate and analyze new commercial/open-source services/technologies from AWS and other Big Data vendors.
• Interface with AWS Solution Architects and Engineers on reference architectures, design patterns, and new service capabilities.
• Advise on AWS setup, security and role-based access implementation, network optimizations, and DevOps strategy.
• Create customer-facing pre-sales collateral such as demos and technical presentations.

Requirements

• Hands-on AWS professional with thorough understanding of the AWS technical landscape, business drivers, and emerging computing trends
• AWS Professional/Associate Solutions Architect certification (or similar), plus AWS Specialty certification(s) in Big Data or Data & Analytics
• Minimum 6 years overall experience in systems integration with strong hands-on experience in data integration, data warehousing, and analytical projects
• Intimate familiarity with enterprise data modernization efforts and EDW migration to cloud
• Proven track record of building technical and business relationships with senior executives
• 3+ years of technical management and thought leadership delivering complex data analytics projects on AWS
• 3+ years designing and/or implementing highly distributed applications on AWS
• 2+ years' experience migrating on-premise workloads (EDW, Data Lake, Analytic sandboxes) to AWS
• Demonstrated experience designing Big Data solutions on AWS (Redshift, EMR, Glue, Lambda, Athena, Sagemaker, etc.)
• 3+ years' experience using Python as a programming/scripting language
• Experience with DevOps/CI-CD pipelines and Agile/Scrum/ALM methodologies
• Technical architecture experience on Massively Parallel Processing technologies (Redshift, Hadoop, Spark, Teradata, Netezza)
• Familiarity with data visualization technologies (Tableau, Qlik, etc.) and data modeling for business reporting
• Exceptional verbal and written communication, with demonstrated technical thought leadership in customer-facing situations
