Senior Platform Engineer, Infrastructure

Job description

Field Nation is hiring a Senior Platform Engineer, Infrastructure in Dhaka. The role redefines the customer experience with the company's internal development platform and tooling, empowering software engineers to build, deploy and troubleshoot cloud applications with default security, reliability and scalability, and serving as a platform ambassador across engineering teams. Working hours: 1:00 PM - 10:00 PM (BD time), Monday to Friday. Salary range: BDT 170,000 - 220,000 per month. Work model: hybrid (2 days in office, 3 days remote per week).

Responsibilities

• Actively contribute to defining, designing, building and operating the internal developer platform and tools, enabling other engineering teams to focus on feature work
• Serve as a leader and mentor on cloud architecture, infrastructure as code, monitoring and alerting, and other operational excellence areas
• Participate in the on-call rotation for incident response during working hours for the platform and tools
• Build monitoring that alerts on symptoms rather than on outages
• Use metrics/data to improve the products continuously and ensure SLIs are defined and measured and SLOs are met or exceeded
• Identify and implement improvements in the platform architecture and/or tools to reduce toil and improve resilience and scalability
• Use solid engineering practices to build long-term solutions that prevent issues from repeating
• Utilize chaos engineering practices to validate that monitoring, resilience, and HA/DR commitments are being met

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with CI/CD tools such as GitOps, Ansible, Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab (GitHub Actions preferred)
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps/DevSecOps/SRE
• 3+ years writing secure, scalable and resilient infrastructure as code, preferably Terraform, on cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS)
• 3+ years of experience with Kubernetes (preferably EKS) and Docker
• 3+ years of experience writing automation and tools in scripting or programming languages
• 2+ years building, running and operating cloud-native applications using Docker and one or more programming languages (NodeJS, PHP or Go preferred)
• Very strong background and passion for building secure solutions
• Working knowledge of defining and managing SLIs and SLOs and using error budgets
• Strong English communication, verbal and written
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or related field; experience with Flux and Helm, AWS services (EC2, MKS, RDS, S3), networking, certificate management, DNS, CDN, identity management, Datadog, and agile environments
