Resident Engineer (CP-06)

Job description

SYSTRA, an international consulting and engineering group specialising in public transport and mobility, is collecting applications in Dhaka for the position of Resident Engineer (CP-06). Currently, we are bidding for Bangladesh Railways projects. The position of Resident Engineer(CP-06) is the key position in these BIDs The role is advertised as a key position in SYSTRA's bids for Bangladesh Railways projects and is offered on a contract basis. Duties include: Report to the Chief Resident Engineer (Railway System).; Be responsible for supervising the design, installation and commissioning.; Check and review the Contractor(s)’ design in accordance with the Employer’s Requirements; Supervise the progress of the installation, carry out inspections for quality, quantity, and safety, and check the maintainability of the system, facilities, and equipment.; Assisting the Interface Management Lead Specialist /System Integration Specialist/Interface Management Lead Specialist in integration/Interfacing of their works.; Collect and compile data related to system works for Package 6 for monthly reports covering the progress of the system works, including the installation, commissioning, and testing schedule, and quality and safety status;.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Chief Resident Engineer (Railway System).
• Be responsible for supervising the design, installation and commissioning.
• Check and review the Contractor(s)’ design in accordance with the Employer’s Requirements
• Supervise the progress of the installation, carry out inspections for quality, quantity, and safety, and check the maintainability of the system, facilities, and equipment.
• Assisting the Interface Management Lead Specialist /System Integration Specialist/Interface Management Lead Specialist in integration/Interfacing of their works.
• Collect and compile data related to system works for Package 6 for monthly reports covering the progress of the system works, including the installation, commissioning, and testing schedule, and quality and safety status;
• Reviewing/Approving submissions, intervening/recommending corrective actions or liaising with appropriate colleagues and Any job assigned by the Chief Resident Engineer (Railway System).
• Assist the Client in testing on completion and commissioning of the sub-system or system.
• Assist in resolving actual and potential claims from the Contractor(s) during the manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and testing stages.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent
• Must have a professional qualification as a electrical engineer or other applicable professional qualifications.
• 15 years of professional experience
• Must have proficiency in English
• 10 years of professional experience in the MEP field, including one large-scale (preferably >USD 0.5 billion) underground or elevated metro rail project
• 2 years of work experience in outside Expert’s country
