Resident Engineer (CP-05)

Job description

SYSTRA, an international consulting and engineering group specialising in public transport and mobility, is collecting applications in Dhaka for the position of Resident Engineer (CP-05). Currently, we are bidding for Bangladesh Railways projects. The position of Resident Engineer(CP-05) is the key position in these BIDs The role is advertised as a key position in SYSTRA's bids for Bangladesh Railways projects and is offered on a contract basis. Duties include: Report to the Chief Resident Engineer (Civil);; Be responsible for supervising the construction of civil works for CP05;; Check and review the Contractor(s)’ working/shop design and construction planning related to civil works for CP-05;; Collect and compile data related to civil works CP-05 for the monthly reports covering the progress of the works, including the construction schedule, quality, safety and cost status;; Assist in resolving, countering or mitigating actual and potential claims from the Contractor;; Assist the Client in testing and Commissioning on completion of the works related to CP-05;.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Chief Resident Engineer (Civil);
• Be responsible for supervising the construction of civil works for CP05;
• Check and review the Contractor(s)’ working/shop design and construction planning related to civil works for CP-05;
• Collect and compile data related to civil works CP-05 for the monthly reports covering the progress of the works, including the construction schedule, quality, safety and cost status;
• Assist in resolving, countering or mitigating actual and potential claims from the Contractor;
• Assist the Client in testing and Commissioning on completion of the works related to CP-05;
• Reviewing/Approving submissions, intervening/recommending corrective actions or liaising with appropriate colleagues;
• Inspect, monitor and ensure overall construction safety of CP-05;
• Assisting the Employer in preparation of any technical meeting related to CP-05 and
• Any other related works the Chief Resident Engineer (Civil) gives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Must have a professional qualification as a civil engineer or other applicable professional qualifications
• 15 years of professional experience
• Must have proficiency in English
• 10 years of professional experience in civil construction, including one large-scale (preferably >USD 0.5 billion) elevated metro project
• 3 years of working experience as a Resident Engineer (Civil) in an elevated metro project
• 2 years of work experience in outside Expert’s country
