Mechanical Design Engineer

Job description

This role seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer with 2-5 years of experience to work on CAD software for designing mechanical systems in the automotive and electronics sectors. The engineer will work with CAD software in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform on engineering and design of mechanical systems for manufacturing companies (automotive, electronics, etc.), from sketches to 3D models, rapid prototyping and production tooling (injection molding).

Responsibilities

• Work with CAD software in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform
• Engineering and design of mechanical systems for manufacturing (automotive, electronics, etc.) companies
• 3D modeling and detail drawing of mechanical components (plastic and sheet metal) for automotive/electronics manufacturers
• Transition from sketches to 3D models to rapid prototyping to production tooling (injection molding)
• Analysis and material selection of designed components
• Prepare documentation of manufacturing procedures for designed components
• Design/data reviewing, error analysis and solving
• Work closely with other design engineers, manufacturers and suppliers supporting current designs
• Use the API of CAD systems to create macros or develop software applications

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Hands-on mechanical design experience
• Experience with CAD tools such as CATIA V5/V6 (preferred), Siemens NX, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, etc.
• Knowledge of/experience with PDM and PLM software such as ENOVIA or Teamcenter
• Knowledge of the injection mold process is an added value
• Practical experience in automobile, industrial maintenance or commercial component production
• Programming knowledge in C, C#, Python, etc.
• Strong interpersonal skills in a multidisciplinary environment; able to maintain a security clearance and work as a team
• Quick learner able to work with any prescribed CAD tools
