Job description

Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX), a public university in Tejgaon, Dhaka, has published an official recruitment circular (Memo No. BUTEX/Admin/22/13th Vol/2026/698, dated 28 September 2026) for several teaching and administrative posts, including 1 Librarian for its Central Library, on National Pay Scale Grade-3. Applications must be submitted online via BUTEX's own website (www.butex.edu.bd: Fees payment -> Application fee -> Job -> Position applied for -> Applicant's name -> Father's name -> Mobile no -> Amount -> Payment option), with the application fee (Tk. 200 for this post) paid via the Sonali Payment Gateway (Sonali Bank account/e-Wallet, Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Nexus, bKash, Nagad, Rocket, Upay), after which the printed form plus all required documents (passport-size photo, certificates/transcripts, experience certificates, national ID copy) must be posted to the Registrar, Bangladesh University of Textiles, Tejgaon, Dhaka-1208. Applications are accepted from 30 September 2026 to 29 October 2026 during office hours.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Library Science with a minimum 2nd class/division/GPA at all academic levels from a recognized university/institution
• Minimum 15 years of experience in library work (or equivalent) in a Class-1 post, OR minimum 5 years of experience as Deputy Librarian
• Experience in computer word processing and database management required
• Experience working in a public university library is preferred
• Must be a genuine citizen of Bangladesh and meet all other eligibility conditions stated in the circular
• Application must be submitted online via butex.edu.bd with the Tk. 200 application fee paid through the Sonali Payment Gateway, and the printed form with supporting documents posted to the Registrar's office by the deadline
• Authorities reserve the right to reject incomplete applications or cancel the recruitment process at any stage
