Job description

University of Rajshahi invites applications from Bangladeshi citizens, in the prescribed form, for the following posts in the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management (Teacher Recruitment Circular No. 02/2026, dated 17.10.2026).

Posts: Lecturer (permanent): 1 post in the Marketing subject; Lecturer (temporary, against Assistant Professor posts): 2 posts in the Marketing subject

Pay scale: Tk 44,000-1,05,900 with allowances as per the 9th National Pay Scale 2026

Educational qualifications (for the Lecturer post):

- A 4-year Bachelor (Honours) and a Master's degree in Marketing

- Minimum CGPA 3.50 out of 4.00 in both the Bachelor (Honours) and Master's examinations; candidates from the traditional (class) system must have a first class in both

- Must hold a position from 1st to 7th in the merit list in both the Bachelor (Honours) and Master's results; a candidate placed 1st in either one is exempt from the top-seven condition in the other, but must still have a minimum CGPA of 3.50 out of 4.00 in both

- Candidates who passed the Master's from the thesis group will get preference

- For degrees from foreign universities, the Bachelor (Honours) and Master's together must cover at least five years of study

Special notes:

- The selection board will complete the process through document verification, demonstration and interview; a written test may be held before the demonstration and interview if needed.

- If no qualified applicant is found, the post may be filled by re-advertisement with one condition relaxed, subject to the departmental planning committee's recommendation and Syndicate approval, never below the minimum set by the UGC guideline for public university teacher recruitment.

- For CGPA/GPA with three digits after the decimal, a third digit of 5 or more rounds the second digit up by 1; results are considered to two decimal places.

- Candidates in service must apply through the proper authority. Incomplete applications are rejected. The National Pay Scale 2026 applies.

How to apply: apply online at job.ru.ac.bd by 8 November 2026, 4:00 PM. Click "Apply", sign in with email and password (choose "Create a new account" if you have none), then click "Apply For This Post" next to the post.

All information in the online form must be given in Bangla (Unicode). Incomplete or faulty applications are rejected without explanation, and nothing can be changed after the closing date.

Upload the candidate's signature (300x80 pixels) and a colour passport-size photo (300x400 pixels). All communication is by mobile and email, so both must be correct.

Pay the application fee of Tk 1,500 (including service charge) online through the same website using "Pay Online"; applications without the fee are not accepted.

Then submit 6 (six) sets of the application (attested photocopies where applicable) to the office of the Registrar, University of Rajshahi, by post or in person by 8 November 2026, 4:00 PM, with: a colour copy of the completed online form, all educational certificates and mark sheets, experience certificates (if applicable), National ID card, permission from the employer for candidates already in service, and any additional documents. Bring all originals to the interview.

No TA/DA is paid for written, practical or oral examinations.

Applications with false or fake information are cancelled; if any information is later proven false, the selection or appointment will be cancelled and legal or administrative action taken.

Government rules apply for children of freedom fighters and martyred freedom fighters.
