Job description

Essex Law School is ranked 3rd in the UK for research power (REF 2021) and offers LLB programmes (including joint degrees and an LLB Licence English and French Law double degree) and LLM and MA courses, including in human rights, international law, and law and technology. The post holder will contribute to research and teaching with expertise in media and communications law. Permanent, full time. Job ref REQ10358.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to research and teaching, with specific expertise in media and communications law
• Contribute to at least one compulsory LLB area
• Contribute to other undergraduate or postgraduate areas, particularly intellectual property law (desirable)
• Design an engaging, innovative curriculum for a campus-based student body
• Take an active role in School administration
• Produce high-quality research outputs suitable for the Law unit of assessment in the REF

Requirements

• A relevant doctoral research degree or equivalent professional experience/practice, or be close to completing a PhD
• An undergraduate or postgraduate law degree (or equivalent professional experience)
• Teaching experience at undergraduate or postgraduate level, or demonstrable potential to contribute to teaching and learning support
