IT Infrastructure Engineer

Job description

The role supports the availability and optimisation of critical infrastructure, identity management, and PowerShell scripts and libraries that support the University's teaching, research, and administrative functions. The post reports to the Infrastructure Manager and indirectly to the Infrastructure Architect. Full time (35 hours per week), permanent, Grade 7 London pay scale including London weighting. Responsibilities

• Managing identity management processes
• Maintaining PowerShell scripts and libraries
• Maintaining integration of Entra ID, Azure, OCI, and M365 environments
• Designing, developing, administering, and supporting complex infrastructure, including Linux and Windows virtual servers
• Server host and storage management
• Messaging services, Active Directory and Azure AD within M365, AWS cloud services, and scripting and automation
• Working with IT Services to resolve escalated issues and improve team efficiency

Requirements

• Extensive experience with PowerShell, identity management, Linux, and Oracle platforms
• Strong understanding of Windows security standards and Entra ID
• Proficiency in scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and a customer-focused approach
• Appointment subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check
