General Cashier

Job description

Raffles & Fairmont Doha is hiring a General Cashier for its Finance Department. The General Cashier manages daily cash transactions, maintains petty cash and cashier floats, prepares bank deposits, reconciles cash collections and makes sure financial reporting is accurate.

The role keeps proper documentation, investigates cash discrepancies, supports audits and makes sure the hotel's financial policies and internal controls are followed.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily cash collections and ensure accurate cash handling
• Maintain and control petty cash, cashier floats and cash disbursements
• Prepare daily bank deposits and submit cash collections on time
• Reconcile cash balances, cashier reports and supporting documents
• Conduct surprise cash counts and cashier bank audits
• Investigate cash discrepancies and report shortages or overages
• Keep accurate records of cash transactions, receipts, vouchers and reimbursements
• Prepare daily cash reports and assist with month-end closing
• Coordinate with Front Office, Food & Beverage, Accounts Payable and Income Audit on cash matters
• Support internal and external audits with accurate records

Requirements

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field
• Previous experience in cash handling, accounting or hotel finance operations
• Hospitality experience, preferably in a luxury hotel
• Good knowledge of cash management, petty cash control and bank reconciliation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
• Familiarity with hotel management systems and accounting software
• Strong numerical and analytical skills and attention to detail
• High level of honesty, integrity and confidentiality
