You will build organizational capability, lead cross-functional initiatives, and establish the systems, supplier partnerships, and governance needed to improve service, manage risk, and optimize total cost of ownership.
This role combines strategic leadership with operational expertise. Success requires sound business judgment, financial discipline, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to lead teams and influence stakeholders across the organization.

- Translate business demand into fleet capacity plans, vehicle and equipment specifications, asset allocation decisions, replacement schedules, and investment recommendations.
- Establish a scalable fleet operating model with clear service levels, decision rights, operating standards, and accountability across stakeholders.
- Partner with business leaders to anticipate changing operational needs and ensure fleet capabilities support business objectives.
- Own fleet operating and capital budgets, including annual planning, forecasting, variance management, and investment business cases, within established approval policies.
- Lead the full asset lifecycle, including specification, acquisition, registration, deployment, utilization, maintenance, replacement, and disposition.
- Optimize total cost of ownership through disciplined acquisition planning, asset utilization, preventive maintenance, supplier performance, and disposition strategies.

- Establish and deliver measurable improvement targets for cost, reliability, utilization, and service performance.
- Establish and govern fleet safety policies, driver qualification requirements, operating procedures, maintenance standards, and recordkeeping practices.
- Ensure fleet operations comply with applicable federal, state, and local requirements, including Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA), and International Registration Plan (IRP) requirements.
- Partner with Legal, Finance, Risk, and operational stakeholders to maintain effective controls, audit readiness, and corrective-action programs.
- Establish incident-response and business continuity plans that reduce operational exposure and minimize service disruption.
- Build a culture in which safety, compliance, and accountability are embedded in daily decisions and leadership practices.

- Build and lead a high-performing fleet organization, including organizational design, workforce planning, leadership development, and succession planning.
- Coach and develop managers and individual contributors, establish clear expectations, and hold the team accountable for measurable results.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives and decisions involving fleet requirements, asset allocation, service levels, operational readiness, and investment priorities.
- Establish effective partnerships with internal stakeholders to resolve competing priorities and deliver reliable, scalable fleet services.
- Own fleet supplier strategy and strategic vendor relationships, partnering with Procurement and Legal on sourcing, negotiations, and contracting.
- Establish supplier performance standards and governance for cost, quality, delivery, availability, and service.
- Develop supplier contingency plans and address performance gaps to protect operational continuity.
- Identify opportunities to consolidate spend, improve commercial terms, and strengthen long-term supplier capabilities.
