Job description

WASTE and Circular Economy Advisers, known as Waste Bangladesh, works on waste management, circular economy, resource efficiency and renewable energy. It supports practical solutions through research, advisory services, training and project implementation. The organisation is looking for a creative and motivated Communication Trainee to help communicate its projects, services and impact. This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Dhaka. The trainee will work with the team to turn technical information and field experiences into clear, engaging content for different audiences. Previous professional experience is not required. Academic work, volunteering, personal creative projects and relevant portfolios are welcome. Final-year students should be able to meet the full-time work schedule. The trainee will gain practical experience in sustainability communication, digital content creation, project documentation and campaign support, with guidance from the team.

Responsibilities

• Draft and edit Bangla and English content for social media, websites, articles and project updates.
• Create simple graphics, presentations and communication materials using Canva or similar tools.
• Support basic video editing, captions and short videos highlighting projects and community experiences.
• Collect stories, photographs and information from project teams and field activities.
• Help maintain a content calendar and update the digital channels.
• Assist with events, campaigns, training activities and stakeholder communication.
• Monitor audience engagement and prepare brief performance updates.
• Check content for accuracy, clarity and consistency before submission for approval.

Requirements

• Recent graduates or final-year students in Communication, Journalism, Media Studies, Marketing, English, Environmental Studies or a related discipline.
• Clear writing skills in Bangla and English.
• Familiarity with social media and basic office tools.
• Basic Canva, photography or video editing skills would be an advantage.
• An interest in sustainability, waste management and community development.
• Willingness to learn, receive feedback, work collaboratively and meet deadlines.
