Job description

Jahangirnagar University (Savar, Dhaka) invites applications for 1 post of Assistant Horticulturist (Faculty of Biological Sciences (re-circular)), Grade 9 of the national pay scale 2015 (Tk 22,000 - 53,060), under its amended recruitment circular dated 13 October 2026 (ref. রেজি/প্রশাসন-২/২৬০৭(১৫০), amending the circular of 23 September 2026). This is a re-advertised post; those who already applied for it do not need to apply again. Applicants must create a profile on https://jobs.juniv.edu, fill in their name, father's and mother's names, date of birth, address and national ID details, upload all educational certificates and pay the application fee online (debit card, credit card or mobile banking): Tk 600 plus 1.20 percent service charge. The online application closes at 11:59 PM on 31 October 2026. After applying online, the candidate must download the filled-in form and the payment receipt, attach two sets of attested copies of certificates, citizenship papers and experience certificates, and deliver them to the Registrar's office by post or in person by 4:00 PM on 1 November 2026; an application without the hard copy is cancelled. Serving employees must apply through their own authority. Applicants must apply separately for each office where a post is advertised in several offices.

Requirements

• At least second class/division with a CGPA of at least 2.75 out of 4.00 (or GPA of at least 3.00 out of 5.00) at every level of education
• Bachelor's (honours) or master's degree in botany, agriculture, horticulture, landscape or a related subject, with preference for practical experience in gardening, nursery work, planting and garden care; or a diploma of at least 3 years in a related subject with at least 3 years of practical experience at a government, autonomous or registered institution
• Those who already applied for this re-circular post need not apply again
• Serving employees must apply through their own authority
