Job description
Schertech, headquartered in Brixen, is part of the Scherer Group, an internationally operating group of companies with over 6 locations worldwide. As a specialist for digital production solutions, we support manufacturing companies on their way to the smart factory from MES to Lean Digital and process monitoring through integrated energy management. With around 50 highly qualified employees and locations in Bangladesh, Germany, Italy, and Turkey we combine technological innovation with global market reach.
To strengthen our finance function, Schertech is looking to fill the following position at SCT Bangla Limited, our Dhaka office, at the earliest possible date:
Accounts Officer (Tax & Statutory Compliance )
Your challenge:
Take full ownership of local-currency bookkeeping and statutory compliance for SCT Bangla Limited, working closely with the Head of Office in Bangladesh on a daily basis.
Prepare and file all statutory NBR returns, VAT, corporate/withholding tax, and TDS/VDS ensuring accurate, timely compliance with the Income Tax Act, 2023 and VAT and Supplementary Duty Act, 2012.
Maintain all statutory registrations up to date and in good standing.
Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including account reconciliations, adjusting entries, and supporting schedules.
Prepare accurate trial balances and monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports.
Liaise directly with external auditors, tax consultants, and NBR officials on audits, assessments, and queries.
Maintain audit-ready documentation and records for all financial transactions and support sound internal controls in line with local statutory requirements.
Communicate regularly and clearly, in English, with the Head of Finance in Germany on financial status, open questions, and reporting needs.
What you bring:
A minimum of 2+ years of professional experience in accounting / bookkeeping in Bangladesh.
A bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
Strong, up-to-date working knowledge of Bangladeshi tax and statutory compliance: NBR filing procedures, income tax and VAT return submission, TDS/VDS rules, and related regulatory requirements.
Advanced proficiency with Office 365 (especially MS Excel) for data organization, alongside practical knowledge of common accounting software.
Good numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
Solid spoken and written English proficiency, with a strong command of technical accounting vocabulary for direct collaboration with the German finance team.
High level of reliability, confidentiality, ownership, and professional integrity.
What to expect:
A clearly scoped, standalone role with real ownership over the finances of a growing international company. You will work independently on Bangladesh bookkeeping and compliance, with direct, regular contact with our finance team in Germany but without responsibility for group consolidation. You'll be part of a stable, internationally connected company with colleagues across Bangladesh, Germany, Italy, and Turkey.
If you're a reliable, detail-oriented accountant with solid Bangladeshi tax knowledge and are comfortable communicating in English with an international team, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today and become part of Schertech's international journey.
