The Specialist, Rehabilitation will be responsible for managing the sustainable graduation of targeted ultra-poor persons with disabilities by identifying intensive rehabilitation needs and designing and implementing holistic, individualized interventions to enhance functional capacity, enterprise engagement, and essential life skills. The role will ensure access to appropriate services through effective referral mechanisms, while providing technical guidance and capacity development support to frontline staff. The role will also strengthen the engagement of caregivers, families, and communities through awareness and education, thereby enhancing the quality, integration, and effectiveness of interventions and promoting sustainable inclusion and resilience.

Job location: anywhere in Bangladesh. This position is open for Bangladeshi nationals only. BRAC does not charge any fees at any stage of the recruitment process.

• Identify persons with disabilities within programme areas in alignment with the Rights and Protection of Persons with Disabilities relevant frameworks and programme guidelines and assess their rehabilitation and support needs.
• Develop individualized care and rehabilitation plans, and organize home and community-based rehabilitation services with appropriate follow-up.
• Facilitate access to assistive devices and recommend appropriate home and workplace accessibility modifications to improve functional independence and activities of daily living.
• Provide hands-on coaching and guidance to caregivers and family members through home visits, group sessions, and community-based interventions, while promoting disability awareness and inclusion.
• Support persons with disabilities to participate in relevant skills development, livelihood, enterprise, and employment opportunities.
• Build the capacity of frontline, branch, and field staff through training, coaching, and technical guidance on disability inclusion and mainstreaming within programme activities.
• Ensure appropriate referral and linkage of persons with disabilities to basic health facilities, rehabilitation services, and specialized service providers.
• Establish and maintain coordination with disability, livelihood, employment, skills-development institutions, service providers, and relevant government departments to facilitate comprehensive support for households with persons with disabilities.
• Collect, validate, analyze, and maintain disability-related data and information to support programme monitoring, organizational reporting, learning, and research.
• Safeguarding Responsibilities:
• Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
• Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
• Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.

যোগ্যতা

• Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Science, including a one-year internship, from a recognized university or institution, major in Physiotherapy / Occupational Therapy / Speech and Language Therapy.
• Minimum two (2) years of relevant professional experience in Community-Based Rehabilitation, disability-focused organizations, or programmes related to disability inclusion.
• Sound knowledge of Community-Based Rehabilitation, functional assessment, assistive devices, task adaptation, and disability inclusion.
• Understanding of the relationship between poverty and disability, community dynamics, local culture, social norms, and barriers to inclusion.
• Sound understanding of Rights and Protection of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2013.
• Knowledge of home- and community-based rehabilitation approaches, referral pathways, and basic accessibility principles.
• Strong assessment, rehabilitation planning, intervention, and follow-up skills.
• Practical skills in assistive device selection, measurement, fitting, and user guidance.
• Ability to recommend low-cost home modifications, tools, and task adaptations.
• Ability to apply basic therapeutic exercises and functional rehabilitation techniques.
• Strong facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and community communication skills.
