Specialist, Rehabilitation, Ultra-Poor Graduation

The Specialist, Rehabilitation will be responsible for managing the sustainable graduation of targeted ultra-poor persons with disabilities by identifying intensive rehabilitation needs and designing and implementing holistic, individualized interventions to enhance functional capacity, enterprise engagement, and essential life skills. The role will ensure access to appropriate services through effective referral mechanisms, while providing technical guidance and capacity development support to frontline staff. The role will also strengthen the engagement of caregivers, families, and communities through awareness and education, thereby enhancing the quality, integration, and effectiveness of interventions and promoting sustainable inclusion and resilience.

Safeguarding: ensure the safety of programme participants and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation, including sexual exploitation and abuse; promote the safeguarding policy and follow its reporting procedure.

This position is open to Bangladeshi nationals only. Selected candidates will go through a rigorous reference and background check, which may include police verification. BRAC does not charge any fees at any stage of the recruitment process.

দায়িত্ব

• Identify persons with disabilities within programme areas in line with the Rights and Protection of Persons with Disabilities frameworks and programme guidelines, and assess their rehabilitation and support needs
• Develop individualized care and rehabilitation plans, and organize home and community-based rehabilitation services with follow-up
• Facilitate access to assistive devices and recommend home and workplace accessibility modifications
• Coach and guide caregivers and family members through home visits, group sessions and community-based interventions, promoting disability awareness and inclusion
• Support persons with disabilities to participate in skills development, livelihood, enterprise and employment opportunities
• Build the capacity of frontline, branch and field staff on disability inclusion and mainstreaming
• Ensure referral and linkage of persons with disabilities to health facilities, rehabilitation services and specialized service providers
• Coordinate with disability, livelihood, employment and skills-development institutions, service providers and government departments
• Collect, validate, analyze and maintain disability-related data for monitoring, reporting, learning and research

যোগ্যতা

• Bachelor's degree with major in Physiotherapy / Occupational Therapy / Speech and Language Therapy
• Minimum two years of relevant professional experience in Community-Based Rehabilitation, disability-focused organizations, or disability inclusion programmes
• Sound knowledge of Community-Based Rehabilitation, functional assessment, assistive devices, task adaptation and disability inclusion
• Understanding of the relationship between poverty and disability, community dynamics, local culture, social norms and barriers to inclusion
• Sound understanding of the Rights and Protection of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2013
• Strong assessment, rehabilitation planning, intervention and follow-up skills
• Practical skills in assistive device selection, measurement, fitting and user guidance
• Ability to recommend low-cost home modifications, tools and task adaptations, and to apply basic therapeutic exercises
• Strong facilitation, stakeholder engagement and community communication skills
