With the support of The Global Fund, BRAC Health Programme has been implementing the TB Control Project for more than three decades in collaboration with the National Tuberculosis Control Programme (NTP). BRAC works in a people-centred approach across rural and urban areas to ensure prevention, early diagnosis and treatment adherence of tuberculosis through community engagement and Public-Private Mix (PPM) activities. Job purpose: the Medical Officer works closely with the NTP and BRAC staff to implement quality TB services at field level, and monitors and supervises programme performance based on national guidelines, SoPs and strategies, contributing to the NTP's goals and objectives. This contractual position requires hands-on field experience in health programme monitoring, data collection and resource tracking within public health structures, strong stakeholder coordination with government health officials and community partners, and bilingual fluency in English and Bengali to lead workshops, facilitate training and motivate field teams. • Promote government ownership and stewardship of implementing integrated TB and Malaria activities at field level.
• Work closely with government stakeholders to ensure integration of the TB and Malaria services in urban areas.
• Maintain effective coordination and relationship building with all stakeholders, including government and other relevant partners, with mutual respect and transparency.
• Prepare work-plans based on budgets and national targets and execute the field activities under the guidance of the NTP.
• Identify training needs and build the capacity of field staff through on-the-job and formal training.
• Provide technical support to the TB control and malaria elimination activities under BRAC Health Programme, with the required field visits and any other job assigned by the programme.
• Conduct regular supervision and monitoring of programme activities in assigned areas, identify bottlenecks and take timely measures so that all components of TB and Malaria services are functional.
• Ensure optimum utilisation of available resources and inform management so vacant positions are filled at the earliest.
• Regularly check programme records, including financial records, and prepare programmatic and other reports within the stipulated timeline.
• Safeguarding: ensure the safety of programme participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation, and follow the safeguarding reporting procedure.

• Must have an MBBS degree; a Master's degree in Public Health (MPH) is preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of work experience in the NGO sector.
• Computer operating skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong ability to coordinate effectively.
• Good communication proficiency in both English and Bengali.
• Presentation skills.

• Motivation skills.
• Sound knowledge in the public health field.
• Understanding of field-level programme implementation, monitoring, reporting and resource utilisation.
• Understanding of the NTP, government health structures, public-sector coordination mechanisms and partnership approaches.
