The World Food Programme is hiring an electrical engineer (Mechanics, Grade SC4) at its Cox's Bazar duty station on a 12-month service contract. The role provides electrical design, budgeting, new installation, maintenance and repair of WFP infrastructure, generators and other electrical items, including support in planning and organising work in the workshop. The vacancy is for Bangladeshi nationals and female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. WFP offers a benefits package including salary, leave and medical insurance. দায়িত্ব

• Design electrical systems and prepare drawings, Bills of Quantities (BoQ), project timelines and material schedules
• Provide hands-on technical support to technicians and advice during implementation
• Apply best practices and standards, including Bangladesh-specific technical requirements
• Conduct the required electrical tests
• Evaluate systems and components by designing tests for functionality, safety and reliability
• Prepare accurate and timely reports on outputs
• Diagnose errors in electrical assemblies and fix performance issues
• Prepare tender and contract documentation
• Provide technical guidance and training to operators, cooperating partners and vendors

যোগ্যতা

• University degree (Bachelor's or equivalent); education in Electrical Engineering or a relevant field is preferable
• At least 4 years of overall experience in design, installation and monitoring of electrical activities
• Fluency in spoken and written English and Bangla
• Knowledge of renewable energy (solar systems) and lightning protection (LPS) systems
• Knowledge of preparing tender and contract documents
• Desirable: experience with small to medium electrical design and installation, power generation, transmission and distribution, electronic diagnostic equipment, and AutoCAD Electrical, Multisim or LTSpice
• Desirable: ability to follow local and international electrical codes (IEC or ISO) and to maintain accurate records under time constraints
