Position: Assistant Manager

Department: IT & Infrastructure

Job Location: Head Office, Dhaka

📍 Location: CarryBee HQ

🕙 Office Hours: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

📅 Working Days: 5 days/week

Job Description:

- IT Infrastructure Management

Lead and oversee the organization's IT infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, internet connectivity, Wi-Fi, servers, storage, networking equipment, CCTV, access control, and related infrastructure.

Ensure uninterrupted availability of critical IT infrastructure across HQ, hubs, sorting centers, and other operational locations.

Monitor infrastructure health, performance, capacity, and availability.

Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, expansion, replacement, and preventive maintenance.

Maintain proper documentation of IT assets, network architecture, configurations, and infrastructure dependencies.

- IT Operations & Technical Support

Lead the IT support function and ensure timely resolution of hardware, software, network, connectivity, and user-access-related issues.

Establish and monitor SLA-based IT support for different categories of incidents and service requests.

Ensure effective troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of recurring technical issues.

Coordinate with field teams and Hub In-Charges to resolve operational IT issues.

Maintain an IT Helpdesk/Issue Tracking mechanism and monitor pending issues regularly.

- Network & Connectivity

Manage and monitor corporate internet connectivity, VPN, LAN/WAN, routers, switches, access points, and other networking infrastructure.

Coordinate with ISPs and telecom operators regarding connectivity, bandwidth, downtime, and service quality.

Ensure appropriate network segmentation and access controls between critical systems and general users.

Monitor network performance and identify potential bottlenecks before they impact operations.

- IT Security & Access Management

Implement and maintain IT security controls in coordination with relevant stakeholders.

Manage user access, administrative privileges, device access, and system permissions based on approved authorization.

Ensure timely onboarding, modification, and deactivation of IT access.

Monitor endpoint security, antivirus/EDR, firewall, backup, and other security mechanisms.

Support investigation and resolution of IT security incidents.

Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies, controls, and governance requirements.

- IT Asset & Device Management

Maintain an updated inventory of IT assets including laptops, desktops, printers, networking equipment, CCTV equipment, mobile devices, and other technology assets.

Establish proper processes for asset allocation, handover, recovery, repair, replacement, and disposal.

Monitor asset utilization and lifecycle.

Ensure appropriate tagging and documentation of IT assets.

Coordinate procurement, warranty claims, repairs, and vendor support for IT equipment.

- Business Applications & System Support

Coordinate with application owners, vendors, and internal teams for technical support of business-critical applications.

Provide infrastructure-level support for ERP/HRIS, operational systems, communication platforms, and other enterprise applications.

Support system integration, API connectivity, hosting, domain, DNS, SSL, email, and related technical requirements where applicable.

Coordinate with software vendors for issue resolution, upgrades, patches, and implementation activities.

- Vendor & Contract Management

Manage day-to-day coordination with IT vendors, ISPs, hardware/software suppliers, and technology service providers.

Monitor vendor performance against agreed SLAs and contractual commitments.

Review technical proposals, quotations, service reports, and renewal requirements.

Support procurement and cost optimization initiatives for IT infrastructure and services.

- IT Governance & Compliance

Develop, implement, and maintain IT SOPs, policies, guidelines, checklists, and control mechanisms.

Ensure proper approval and documentation for IT purchases, access provisioning, infrastructure changes, and system modifications.

Conduct periodic IT infrastructure and asset audits.

Identify control gaps and recommend corrective actions.

Maintain proper records and evidence for internal/external audits.

- Team Leadership

Lead, guide, and develop the IT & Infrastructure team.

Allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance.

Establish individual and team-level KPIs/SLAs.

Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and technical guidance.

Ensure adequate IT support coverage for business-critical operations.

Role Expectations

The incumbent is expected to act as the technology infrastructure owner for day-to-day IT operations, ensuring that technology does not become a bottleneck for business operations.

The role requires a balance of hands-on technical capability, team leadership, vendor management, IT governance, and business understanding. The incumbent should be capable of moving beyond reactive IT support and building a proactive, standardized, secure, and scalable IT infrastructure environment for the organization.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Professional certifications such as CCNA, MCSA/MCSE, CompTIA, ITIL, Fortinet, MikroTik, AWS/Azure, or equivalent will be an advantage.

Minimum 3–6 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure, IT operations, network administration, or technical support.

Experience in leading or supervising an IT/infrastructure team is preferred.

Experience working in a multi-location/field operation environment will be highly preferred.
